Colin is the founder and managing partner of Confluence Tax. He specialises in venture capital schemes, R&D tax credits, patent box, share incentives and M&A transactions within biotech and tech. He chairs the Finance and Tax Advisory Committee of the UK BioIndustry Association (BIA) and undertakes consultation work with HM Treasury and HMRC. Colin is a regular speaker and contributor on tax issues relevant to the knowledge economy.

Anne-Marie qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2012 and holds an EIS diploma. She worked for several years with Aviva Plc in the financial services sector, before transferring her skills to the accountancy industry. Anne-Marie joined Confluence Tax in 2014 and specialises in UK corporation tax and EIS/SEIS & VCT venture capital schemes.

Emma is marketing manager for Confluence Tax, and has been working on the company's branding and on and offline presence for the past 18 months. A freelance communications specialist, she has delivered e-commerce and digital content projects at the likes of RS Components, as well as being a journalist and editor in the veterinary profession for many years. She designed the Confluence Tax website – an ever-evolving project – and ensures promotional opportunities are maximised.

Emma recently joined Confluence Tax as office manager. Prior to her move to the tax world, she worked at GEANT for more than four years, where she provided front-of-house services along with extensive administration support to the company at all levels. Emma is extremely organised and has previous experience gained in event support and PA support. Her previous roles also include sales administration and data entry.

Lauren joined Confluence Tax in 2017 from the tax department at Adler Shine, having previously worked at Iris, a tax and accounts software company, where she specialised in both personal and corporation tax, and Lee Marley Brickwork where she dealt with payroll and monthly management accounts. Lauren is an AAT qualified bookkeeper and is continuing her studies through to ATT. Within the Confluence team Lauren is responsible for corporation tax and personal tax returns.

Liam joined Confluence Tax in 2017, after starting his career in accounts and research grant management with the University of Cambridge, where he specialised in developing reports designed for academics and researchers and the European Bioinformatics Institute, before deciding to join the world of tax. He is an Associate Bookkeeping Member of the AAT and plans to continue his studies by starting the ATT qualification. Liam is responsible for advising clients on tax efficient shares schemes and employment taxes.
