Colin is the founder and managing partner of Confluence Tax. He specialises in venture capital schemes, R&D tax credits, patent box, share incentives and M&A transactions within biotech and tech. He chairs the Finance and Tax Advisory Committee of the UK BioIndustry Association (BIA) and undertakes consultation work with HM Treasury and HMRC. Colin is a regular speaker and contributor on tax issues relevant to the knowledge economy.

Anne-Marie joined Confluence Tax in 2014 and specialises in UK corporation tax and EIS/SEIS & VCT venture capital schemes. She qualified as a chartered accountant in 2012 and holds an EIS diploma. She worked for several years with Aviva plc in the financial services sector, before transferring her skills to the accountancy industry.
Emma is head of marketing for Confluence Tax, on a part-time basis. Her background is in journalism and, more recently, digital marketing. She has responsibility for the Confluence Tax website – an ever-evolving project – and delivers the company's marketing, branding and digital content strategy.

Chloe joined confluence tax in 2018, after graduating with a BSc (Hons) in accounting and finance. While studying for her degree she favoured the tax module so decided to follow a career in tax. She plans to continue her studies by starting the ACCA qualification. Within the Confluence Tax team Chloe is a tax assistant responsible for corporation tax, VAT and personal tax returns.

Lauren joined Confluence Tax in 2017 and specialises in the advisory and compliance aspects of personal tax, corporation tax and VAT. She previously worked within the personal tax department at Adler Shine with a focus on high net worth individuals, and prior to that at Iris, specialising in corporation tax and personal tax. Lauren is an AAT qualified bookkeeper currently studying the ATT qualification and plans to gain chartered accreditation by completing the CTA qualification.

After graduating with a BSc in accounting from the University of Essex, Nick joined the Confluence Tax team as tax associate in 2018. While studying he took a keen interest in tax-related issues and focused on this area for his dissertation. Nick is looking to continue his studies in future by taking the ACCA qualification, while learning the ‘tax ropes’ on the job and supporting the team with their client advisory work.

Liam joined Confluence Tax in 2017 and he specialises in implementing tax-efficient share schemes and advising clients on employment tax issues. He started his career in accounts and research grant management with the University of Cambridge, producing financial reports for academic and research staff, after which he joined the European Bioinformatics Institute. During this time, he qualified as an associate bookkeeping member of the AAT.
